Mufti Asjad Raza conferred with ‘Qadi Al-Qudaat’ title

BAREILLY: Mufti Asjad Raza has been appointed as the ‘Qadi Al-Qudaat’ (chief Islamic justice) of India by 67 scholars and jurists present at a recently concluded 16th Annual Fiqhi Seminar here.
Mufti Asjad Raza, who is a shehr qazi, is son of tajjushariya Mufti Akhtar Raza, who died last yearSalman Hasan Khan, vice-president, Jamat Raza-e-Mustafa, an organisation affiliated to Dargah Aala Hazrat, said, “An unanimous decision passed by 67 scholars rightfully appointed Mufti Asjad Raza, son and successor of Mufti Akhtar Raza, as the ‘Qadi Al-Qudaat’ (Chief Islamic Justice) of India. Sunni Barelvi clerics will now have to consult Musti Asjad Raza in important Sharia matters.”

He added that all scholars present in the seminar signed a written declaration affirming the appointment. The names of these signatories will be published in the annual report of Fiqhi Seminar.
